ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
What Should People “C” at Shepherd of the Desert?
The three areas of focus we provide at Shepherd of the Desert are to be a Christ Centered and Caring Community, while offering a Comprehensive Curriculum.
We are blessed to share God's love with one another. We believe in cultivating the special relationship between our Savior, Jesus Christ, and each child. This is demonstrated through class devotions, daily Religion classes, chapel, and everyday interactions with students, parents, and the community.
At Shepherd of the Desert, we foster a loving environment where everyone knows and feels that they are cared for. This is accomplished by how we treat and speak to parents, students, and fellow staff members. By building positive relationships with our students and parents, working cooperatively as a staff, and reaching out to the community, Shepherd of the Desert establishes a school community that cares for one another.
While many schools are eliminating fine arts, reducing physical education time, and discontinuing programs not considered part of traditional academic programs, we believe in the development of the whole child. The best way to educate and prepare students for a successful future is to expose them to a wide variety of activities and educational disciplines. This enables them to become well-rounded individuals who are able to serve our Lord and the community in multiple capacities. Therefore, in addition to providing a curriculum that prepares students for excellence, Shepherd of the Desert offers a variety of art, music, athletic, and other extracurricular opportunities.
