Melissa, Parent of Graduate

Our daughter’s experience at Shepherd of the Desert was exceptional.  The Christ-centered focus was authentic and created an environment of kindness. The curriculum was academically rigorous, but also accommodating toward the needs of the individual child.
We were blessed to be a part of the Shepherd family.

Parent of Two Graduates

SOTD was "home" for each of my children for 12 years. They were nurtured well in all areas; academically, spiritually, and socially. Shepherd equipped them well as they headed off to high school and college where they carried themselves with confidence as they continued  to excel in their next levels of schooling. We loved all our years at Shepherd and continue to spend time with lifelong friends made during those years!

Carole & Bob, Parent of Two Graduates, and 8th Grade

My family of 3 children have attended Shepherd of the Desert since 2006.  When I was researching schools for our children, I looked long and hard for a school that would provide a solid foundation of a Christian education, dedicated teachers who are committed to bringing out the best in their students, and to be surrounded by thoughtful Christ-like families that are supportive of each other.  This is what I have found here at Shepherd of the Desert.

My son graduated from Shepherd and  is now a junior at Brophy College Prep High School. He  was well prepared academically and  has stood out as an outstanding overall student. My daughter is a Freshman, accepted with honors,  at Notre Dame Prep.  My last son is a 7th grader and he is happy to continue his education at Shepherd.  Because  Shepherd of the Desert  is a very small environment, each and every student is held accountable for their school work and their behavior. They are expected to be role models for the younger students and are held to a standard that the community would be proud of.  I recommend Shepherd of the Desert because of their Christian-based education and for the close relationships that they form with their students and families.

Ginger, 4th & 8th Grade Parent

Choosing to send my kids to Shepherd of the Desert has been the most impactful parenting decision my husband and I have made.  Our kids are thriving academically, growing spiritually and are becoming the well-rounded, confident individuals we aspire them to be.

Ron & Julie, 7th Grade Parents

Our daughter has been at Sotd from pre-K to now, 7 th grade, and will “graduate” next year. This small, loving, Christ-centered community has been a priceless “family” to us as far as molding our daughter into a responsible, caring, compassionate, young woman who has a personal relationship with her Lord.

Brophy College Preparatory

“Brophy College Preparatory was excited to have a strong group of applicants last winter from Shepherd of the Desert. The Class of 2018 was a competitive group with over 600 students applying for 340 spots. Five students from SOTD were accepted and currently we have four freshman boys attending Brophy. Two of the five boys were accepted with “honors” meaning they had some of the highest entrance exam scores combined with a very strong academic record from middle school. The testing results of the SOTD students back up the work and preparation being done on your campus—their average score was 89%, which is well above the average 82% for all accepted students. All four boys have joined our Diplomatic Corps to be ambassadors for Brophy and host our next group of applicants on Shadow Days! The boys from Shepherd of the Desert are well-prepared for a rigorous college preparatory curriculum and we look forward to more students applying in the future.”
